about

First off, if you've cruised by this page randomly, or you heard one of my songs on radio please take the time to add me, message me or write me a love letter, I'm really keen to hear from anyone and I will get back to you.

To business; this should probably be in third person, forgive me. My name is Chance, I make indie hip-hop from the heart (at least, I like to think so). Because of my music I've had the experience of travelling the country with lots of awesome people, and this is one of the best parts of my life to date. Some of these people include Bliss n Eso, The Herd, Astronomy Class, The Funkoars, Phrase, Delta, 360 & Pez, True Live, Mind Over Matter, Coptic Soldier, Pegz, Muph n Plutonic, Drapht, K-Rino (US), Dos Noun (US), Planet Asia (US) and lots of not quite as 'famous', but still really talented and awesome folks (and sometimes they even drink these better known acts under the table [although, probably not The Funkoars ]).

Since I don't like the idea of telling you what you should think of my music, here's how some other people have been kind enough to describe it.

"I can't claim to be an expert on hip-hop, but I reckon rapping and MCing is much like singing: you need good lyrics, rhythm, flow and tone. Phatchance has it all. Couple that with solid production, and you've got yourself a burgeoning hip-hop star. I say: get on the bandwagon now!" - Dom Alessio (Triple J), The Home & Hosed Blog (Oct 20, 2009)

"Intense - perfectly complimentary (and intelligent) lyrics paired with deep production. Liking all the Phatchance i'm hearing." - Steph Hughes (Triple J), Triple J Unearthed

"The beat's ill and so are the rhymes! Everything's on point. A lot of feeling." - Suffa MC (Hilltop Hoods), Triple J Unearthed

"Chance manages to strike a balance by being impassioned without being a dickhead, and being cool enough that even the rock kids will dig it. I predict big things. Give it a spin and see if you agree." - Jono Seidler, One A Day Blog (Oct 05, 2009)

"I won't sit here and pretend to be an Aussie hip hop connoisseur, but I know when I like something and I'm quite taken with this song." - Matt Hickey, Who The Bloody Hell Are They? Blog (Oct 05, 2009)

"If the releases didn't already do it, this launch has demonstrated that the 'I Forget, Sorry!' moniker is one to look out for" - Steve Zee, hiphopsphere.com (Jun 18, 2009)

My solo album Inkstains drops on November 27th via Obese Records Distribution it's been a real labour of love and features production from some very talented people, including Adit (Horrorshow), Konfuzion, Akouo, Elgen, DJ Hoppa & One Above. It also features contributions from the likes of 360 (The Festival Song), Smiles Again (Mind Over Matter), Prime, Sam Mcneill (Saving Grace) Joyride & HR King.

If you have a minute, you should also suss the collective I'm a part of with my good friends Mind Over Matter & Coptic Soldier, 'I Forget, Sorry!'. We tour the country regularly so catching one of our gigs should not be an issue. Swing by www.iforgetsorry.com for more information or just to say hi.
